1.
30 houses in this subdivision, every mailbox, my dog stops to leg hike
and squirt. My dog can't have to pee that much. What's up with that?

2.
Every 2nd-3rd house, my dog catches a whiff of something intense in the
neighbors lawn, won't let it go, and I have to use the leash to drag
him away by the neck, fingernails scratching the asphalt the whole time
What's up with that?

Replies appreciated.

Same thing as above, when you walk him try holding him on a short leash.
Wrap the lease around your hand until there is just enough for him to walk
immediately on your left side close up to your foot, that way you have more
control. When he goes to take of give him a sharp snap back and say "back"
sternly, he will learn after a while.
