My daughter had a dog that I got her 12 years ago. I say "had" because she
had to have her put down today. She took her to a vet here in Kootenai
County, Idaho and they quoted her $120 to do it. That didn't seem to
unreasonable until she told them that she wanted to be there with her when
they did it. They told her that her being there would cost another $35 and
that she would have to pay up front before they would do it. She took her to
my vet and had it done.

That tripped my trigger. To have a vet as unsympathetic as this seems rather
callous to me. So, what do they do diffenently when the person is in the
room? I also did a little research and it looks like this office prescribes
unneeded meds and procedures. I find it ironic that they just had a major
remodeling of their facilities. Sorry to use this forum to vent but I'm
really glad I don't know this guy. I just hope others notice too.

That's not right. I mean that's like way tooo expensive and they
shouldn't charge people for watching their dog be put to sleep.

I used the same vet for four years....untill the day he would not
negotiate a payment schedule for handling the remains of a dog that he
euthanised.......he said if i couldnt pay the full amount up front,
then I'd have to take the dog and deal with it on my own.
A couple years later a friend made the mistake of boarding her dog in
his tiny kennel......the dog left there with "issues"
